Trees devouring sheep: Land grabbing investment funds and the 'new enclosures' of Welsh farmland

It’s very much a working paper, but this is what I submitted to the Global Land Grabbing Conference in Bogotá last month.

In it I look at a company called Foresight who have been buying up land across the UK to engage in produce timber and carbon credits. I look a bit at the contestation between sheep farmers and trees and at potential political resistance and alternatives.

I had to rush the paper a bit towards the end so there are some errors and things I’d like to tighten up. I’d like to work this into an academic paper but will likely need to hone it down. If anyone has any feedback or comments on it please let me know!
